SILCHAR: Parimal Suklabaidya, Minister of Forest and Environment, Excise and Fisheries, lauded the relentless hard work of doctors in the larger interest of COVID-19 patients, putting their life at peril. His appreciation for the frontline COVID warriors was heaped during his visit to SMCH to hand over an oxygen concentrator to the medical college for COVID patients donated by Bangladesh Hindu Organisation, an association of expatriate Bengalis in London.

In his brief speech, Suklabaidya said, "In many cases patients afflicted with COVID do not get help from their families while doctors extend yeoman services to them with PPE kits on for hours." The Minister expressed his gratitude to those who have been taking care for the welfare of COVID patients in their native land.

The Minister added to say Alok Chanda, Haripada Suklabaidya, Amar Baidya and Krishna Dey of Bangladesh Hindu Association, London, expressed their willingness to donate an oxygen concentrator to SMCH which he handed over to hospital authority on their behalf. Principal, SMCH, Dr B. K. Bezbaruah, Vice- Principal, Bhaskar Gupta, Superintendent, Dr Abhijit Swami and Deputy Superintendent, Presenjit Ghosh were present during the ceremonial handing over ceremony.
