MP Pallab Lochan Das Reviews Implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes

TEZPUR: A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was held under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament, Tezpur HPC, Pallab Lochan Das and Chairman of the DISHA committee in the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s office here on Tuesday. Presiding over the meeting, Member of Parliament, Tezpur HPC, Pallab Lochan Das reviewed the implementation of all the centrally-sponsored schemes along with various State government schemes and other development projects being implemented in the district in the presence of Borsola MLA Ganesh Limboo, MLA of Tezpur LAC, Prithiraj Rava, Rangapara MLA Krishna Kamal Tanti, District Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Karabi Saikia Karan, heads of various departments, Panchayat representatives and other senior district administration officials.

The DISHA meeting this time was held over two days where the schemes under the departments of Education, Health & Family Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Power, PWD, Irrigation, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Dairy and Labour were reviewed on the first day. The remaining departments were reviewed on Tuesday.

Taking a detailed review of the Education department, MP Pallab Lochan Das asked the department officials to ensure that Pupil Teacher Ratio is maintained across all schools in the district as per stipulated norms. He also asked the officials to develop a format for reporting of Midday meals being served in all schools with special focus on tea garden schools.

The MP also reviewed the steps taken to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate in the district and asked the Health department officials to pay special attention to rolling out of Ayushman Bharat cards and ensure that poor people are able to avail the benefits of the scheme.

The MP also asked the officials of the Food and Civil Supplies department to complete seeding of One Nation One Ration Cards with Aadhaar at the earliest.

Taking a detailed review of various schemes under the Panchayat and Rural Development department such as the implementation of Amrit Sarovar, PMAY-G in the district, block-wise physical progress of various schemes taken under 15th Finance Commission, the MP directed all officials concerned to identify the chief causes behind the delay in implementation of some schemes and ensure that poor beneficiaries do not suffer due to administrative lapses.
