Pallab Lochan Das ‘Unhappy’ with final NRC list

DHEKIAJULI: On Saturday evening, Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das visited Dhekiajuli Municipality office for assuming charge as ex-officio member of the Dhekiajuli Municipality Board. After an official meeting held at the Dhekiajuli Municipality Board, the Tezpur MP expressed unhappiness over the final NRC publication.

He was extremely anxious over the speculation of a large number of genuine Indian citizens’ names being excluded from the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) list. The MP said that what had happened in the NRC publication was not expected. He categorically said that the NRC publication process was incorrect and his government would broadly discuss the post-NRC situation of Assam in the party level.

On the other hand, the law-and-order situation in and around Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle was normal after the final NRC list publication. But as per information received from different parts of Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle, thousands of genuine Indian citizens names’ were excluded from the NRC final list.
