KALAIGAON: Parivartankami Brahman Samaj formed its central committee with an aim to develop the Brahmin community, here on Saturday.
The committee was formed with Dr. Dipak Sarma as president, Dr. Pulin Sarma as executive president, Ajit Kr. Sarma as vice-president and Ranjit Kr. Sarma as secretary. The Parivartankami Brahman Samaj made a fervent appeal to the Brahmin people of various linguistic communities of the State to come under a unified platform to raise voice for their rights. The Parivartankami Brahman Samaj also demanded creation of Brahmin Development Council. Ranjit Kr. Sarma, secretary of Parivartankami Brahman Samaj, told media persons that the association was determined to strengthen its organizational base by reaching out to Brahmins belonging to various linguistic communities in Assam and it would also undertake a project of creating a database so that the statistical figure of the population of Brahmins could be determined.
"We are determined to press for the creation of Brahmin Development Council for the socio-economic development of the community," he added.
