SILCHAR: Inaugurating Pension Seva Kendras (PSKs) in Hailakandi and Karimganj on Friday, Minister Parimal Suklabaidya said, this unique step had been taken by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for the benefit of pensioners.
Minister for Transport, Excise and Fisheries Suklabaidya further said, these kendras had been set up in all the districts to streamline the pension procedures which were earlier very lengthy and painstaking. Suklabaidya inaugurated PSKs at Graham MV School in Hailakandi and at Rajchandra Girls' MV School in Karimganj.
Chief Minister Sarma flagged off the journey of this unique project of his government in Guwahati on Friday to make the administrative functions smoother as well as paperless.
Suklabaidya while inaugurating the PSKs said the State government had authorised all district authorities, head of offices and other competent authorities to start the process of pension proposal within one year of retirement of an employee.
Under the new system, scanning and uploading of service book would be done by PSK operators who would forward the same to the HoDs through the Kritagyata Portal. The HoDs after compilation will forward it to the sanctioning authorities like Director of Pension and Accountant General for necessary sanction. Pensioners of other departments will be able to avail pension related services at the PSKs set up at the district offices of the education department.
"The laudable initiative taken by the Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP Government to set up PSKs is a token of gratitude to the employees who retire after rendering long years of government service. These PSKs will ease the hardships faced by the pensioners," Suklabaidya quipped.
The PSKs will facilitate retired persons to submit forms online, to upload Digital Life Certificates through Jeevan Pramaan using registered devices, download Pension Payment Order (PPO) and other information. Though the number of PSKs is presently 27, the State government is trying to increase the number of PSKs to 35 covering all districts of the State. The state government had approved the setting up of PSKs on October 28 in a bid to improve the ease of living for citizens.
LAKHIMPUR: Minister for Tea Tribe Welfare, Labour and Employment Affairs-cum-Guardian Minister of Lakhimpur, Sanjay Kishan on Saturday inaugurated the Pension Seva Kendra of the district at the Office of the Inspector of Schools. The Pension Seva Kendras (PSKs) across the districts of the State have been set up in an effort to streamline the pension procedures.
Meanwhile, the State Government has authorized the district authorities, Head of Departments (HODs) and other competent authorities to begin the pension proposal procedures, within a year of an employee's retirement. In context with the matter, a decision has also been undertaken to unveil the PSKs at the district offices of the Education department, which will offer services to the pensioners of other departments. The scanning and uploading of Service Books will be done by PSK operators, who will forward these records to the HODs acting as the custodians of Service Book via the "Kritagyata Portal". Following proper compilation, it will be forwarded to the sanctioning authority, that is the Director of Pension and Accountant General for disbursement of the pension.
