Photographer Who Was Seen Attacking Injured Man During Eviction Drive Arrested

GUWAHATI: In the latest development to the Sipajhar incident, the cameraman who was seen attacking an injured man in a viral video has been arrested.

Further, the cameraman has been identified as Bijoy Bonia.

Further, as per Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's direction CID Assam to investigate the matter.

In a viral video, a photographer was found attacking a protestor who came to attack police personnel during an eviction drive in Assam's Dholpur village under Sipajhar revenue circle.

Soon after the incident took place, the video of the photographer has gone viral on social media which brought criticism against the state government. When the clash broke out between police and locals, police had to resort to firing and charged lathi to disperse the mob.

In the video, a protestor was seen attacking the police personnel but however when the police personnel thrashed him, the photographer rushed to the protestor and attacked him brutally. Later on, the photographer was stopped by police personnel, however, he returned to attack the severely wounded protestor once again.
