Picnic Party Attacked at Buroi

Biswanath Chariali: An FIR was lodged in Behali Police Station on Monday in Biswanath district by one Puspa Borah, wife of Deepak Borah of Halemguri under Halem PS, against five persons of Rangsali village, namely Ishwar Hazarika, Bhabananda Hazarika, Bicky Hazarika, Manjit Das and Major Hazarika, accusing them of brutally attacking her husband and others who had gone for a picnic at Buroi on Saturday.

According to information, the accused persons had allegedly brutally attacked sharp weapons upon Deepak Borah (35), son of Dambaru Borah, and Rupjyoti Sharma (28), son of Bhuban Sharma of Takoubari and others, following some altercation in the picnic spot near Buroi River and the duo were injured seriously. Both Deepak and Rupjyoti are now undergoing treatment in ICUs in GNRC Hospital in Guwahati. People have urged strong action against the guilty persons.
