Pijush Hazarika inaugurates 180-bedded Covid-19 care centre at Mangaldoi

Guwahati: Pijush Hazarika, the minister of state for health and family welfare of Assam inaugurated a new COVID-19 care centre consisting of 180 beds at Mangaldoi under Darrang district on Thursday.

He was accompanied by Sipajhar MLA Binanda Kumar Saikia, Mangaldoi MLA Gurujyoti Das, as well as several officers. Minister Hazarika also visited Mangaldoi Civil Hospital to review facilities that have been set up to deal with COVID-19 situation. In Darrang, the Covid-19 cases are increasing rapidly and the tally has now reached 573; to date, 3 people have died due to the virus in the district.
