Platinum Jubilee celebration of Basudev Than Raax festival begins

JAMUGURIHAT: The platinum jubilee celebration of Basudev Than Raax festival began on Friday with a three-day programme. The three-day event began with illumination of earthen lamps followed by hoisting of flags. Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika-cum-president of Basudev Than Raax festival Celebration Committee along with the presidents of various sub-committees hoisted the platinum jubilee flags altogether. Dr Ajit Hazarika, principal of THB College inaugurated the exhibition stalls. Bidyasagar, eminent and iconic singer inaugurated the multi-cultural and Bhagawat procession on Friday morning. Notably, on November 25 and November 26, Sishu Lila and Maharaax will be performed. Foreigners from Germany participated in the event giving an extra charm and glory to the event.
