Dibrugarh: Shree Marwari Durga Puja Committee, started in 1945, will be holding its 10-day platinum jubilee celebration from September 29 to October 8.

Shree Marwari Durga Puja Committee celebration will be marked with various competitions, cultural programmes, and Mahajagya. On September 29, Governor of Assam, Professor Jagdish Mukhi will attend the event as its chief guest. He will inaugurate the Satchandi Mahajagya and Shree Durga Saptasati Path program.

On October 3, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will grace the occasion as chief guest. He will also release the souvenir.

On September 29, a procession will be taken out in the morning by 108 women devotees, starting from Shree Radha Krishna Mandir, Jhalukpara. The Aarti competition will be held on September 30 in the evening, which will be followed by Dandiya dance performance.

One of the most prominent features of the celebration will be the Mahajagya. The organizing committee has established an ad hoc but big Jagya Mandap for the purpose.
