PM-Kisan scam a conspiracy to defame government: Ranjit Kumar Das

BARPETA: The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scam is nothing but a conspiracy by some anti-government elements, said BJP State president Ranjit Kumar Das.

At a press meet on Saturday, the BJP State president and MLA of Sarbhog, Ranjeet Dass said the government took initiative to help the farmers of Assam through some of schemes. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) was one of them. But in Assam this scheme could not be properly implemented due to alleged irregularities.

There is a group on anti-government elements behind the scam in PM-Kisan. This group is trying to bring a bad name to the BJP government with such irregularities,” he said. Regarding the suspension of the District Agriculture Officer of Barpeta, Ranjeet Dass said that something was wrong with the whole system and it would not be solved with the suspension of one officer.

Das said that a proper inquiry was needed into the alleged irregularities in beneficiary selection process under PM-Kisan and he had pointed this out to the Chief Minister and State Agriculture Minister.
