Police: Armed thieves break into car showrooms

DIBRUGARH: In a sensational incident, armed thieves entered four car dealer showrooms in Dibrugarh to carry out a series of thefts.

According to police, three thieves entered the premises of four car dealer showrooms, namely R. D. Automobiles (Mahendra dealer), Subhangshu Motors (Tata Motors), Kia Motors and Borah Toyota, with weapons. The incidents took place on Tuesday night.

The thieves entered the premises with weapons in hand and cloth tied on their faces. As suspected, they entered the premises breaking the window locks with the help of the weapons. The cupboard locks were said to be broken.

Meanwhile, police have collected CCTV footage and started the investigation. The incidents were recorded in the CCTV cameras. “We have collected all the CCTV footage. The thieves entered the showrooms to loot cash but they didn’t get the cash,” said a police official.
