Lakhimpur: In a joint operation by Assam and Arunachal Pradesh police, three persons have been nabbed for keeping stuffs suspected to be drugs in Assam's Lakhimpur district.
According to a report by PTI, drugs have also been recovered from an eight-year-old son of one of those who were arrested, during the joint operation.
The police successfully carried out the operation on Saturday acting on a tip-off.
"The team first arrested two persons, including a woman, and recovered around 5 gm of drugs from them. The man was apprehended earlier too, on allegations of drug trafficking, but later released on bail," PTI quoted Lakhimpur Superintendent of Police Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa as saying.
Later, based on the inputs of the two arrested persons, another woman was arrested from the Harmati area of the district.
"We also found pouches containing drugs from the school uniform of the son of the woman arrested from Harmati," the SP added.
Meanwhile, the minor boy has not been taken under custody and he will undergo counseling.
Further investigation is underway into the matter.
