Political parties convened a protest against delimitation of Amguri LAC

GAURISAGAR: Due to delimitation of Amguri LAC in Sivasagar district the representatives of 12 political parties of Assam and national organizations convened a protest meeting at Amguri public hall on Friday evening. Thousands of people hailing from across the district assembled there. MP Gaurav Gogoi, Debabrat Saikia MLA-cum-Leader of Opposition MLA Rockybul Hussain, MLA, Monuranjan Talukdar, Akhil Gogoi, Bhaskar Baruah, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, president, Axom Jatiya Parishad among others took part the meeting. Addressing the gathering MP Gaurav Gogoi said that by no means the people will accept the delimitation of legislative constituencies in upper Assam. Rockybul Hussain said that three Gogois -Gaurav, Akhil and Lurin jyoti has united to defeat Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Lurin jyoti Gogoi opined that Amguri MLA Prodip Hazarika has surrendered. Debabrat Saikia stated that delimitation of Amguri LAC will not fulfill the dreams and aspirations of indigenous people. Akhil Gogoi said that the delimitation of LAC’s has been done for the safeguard of Hindu Bangladesi.
