TANGLA: With the announcement of poll dates, the Udalguri district administration has sprung into action. In a press communique, the District Election Officer urged all the political parties to use only eco-friendly campaign materials during election. The statement urged the political parties to take adequate measures. Plastic should not be used in campaign materials like posters and banners in the interest of human health and environment.

Meanwhile, the district administration has expedited the mass awareness programme of newly-introduced EVM VVPAT through five awareness teams and separate awareness is going on for Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) and formation of Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) in schools among the future voters. The poll date for 8 No. Mangaldai LS constituency is scheduled to be held in the second phase on April 18 just after Rongali Bihu. Under this constituency falls three legislative segments of the Udalguri district administration - Panery, Udalguri and Mazbat.
