Poor road construction under Public Works Department (PWD) irks people in Morigaon

JAGIROAD: Some of the roads constructed under the Public Works Department (PWD), Morigaon are allegedly below standard. People have alleged that during construction, a section of contractors did not follow the department norms due to which within maximum six months of construction, water started stagnating in the pavers block roads. It is alleged that the Jagiroad-Morigaon road to ASEB Colony pavers block road does not have proper camber and because of poor quality sub base, some portion of the road remained unlevelled. Now even after a slight rain, water stagnation starts which may cause severe damage to the road in the near future. During the time of construction of the road, a section of local people had submitted complaint before the contractor and the engineer but no measures were allegedly taken.
