HAFLONG: Haflong MLA Nandita Gorlosa launched the Rashtriya Poshan Maah, 2021 and Matru Vandana Saptah, 2021 at the conference hall of the Agriculture guest house in Haflong on Wednesday. The programme was organized by the office of the Social Welfare department, Dima Hasao.
The programme began with the welcome speech by Rajdeep Kemprai, Deputy Director of Social Welfare, who also spoke about the objectives of both the programmes i.e Rashtriya Poshan Maah and Pradhan Matri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) week from September 1 to September 7.
The launching programme was attended by the Principal Secretary of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, L Z Nampui, Joint Director of Health Services, Dima Hasao, Dr Dipali Barman, Haflong, Lead Bank Manager Arindam Dutta and Deputy Director of Social Welfare RajdipKemprai.
MLA Nandita Gorlosa, while addressing the Anganwadi workers, supervisors and the officials present in the programme, said that the schemes and benefits introduced by the government for the people, especially for the needy in rural areas, should reach them without any problem.
During her speech she said that awareness about the cash incentive of Rs. 5000 to pregnant women and lactating mothers should be clearly disseminated for larger interest of the beneficiaries through PMMVY ( Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna). MLA Gorlosa said, "I request all the Anganwadi workers, supervisors and CDPOs to help in mass awareness about this financial relief which is given in three installments to these women so that more number of intended beneficiaries get enrolled into the scheme."
The three installments is given in phased manner, first being Rs. 1000 during the early registration of first-time pregnancy and later Rs.2000 each on the 6th month of pregnancy and after delivery.
