‘Poshan Maah’ concludes at District Library of Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Along with the rest of India, the National Nutrition Month’s (Rashtriya Poshan Maah) month-long programme, going on from September 1, ended on Monday.

To mark the day, a closing ceremony was organized at District Library under the aegis of the district administration and District Social Welfare Department. Lighting of the lamp of the event was done by ADC Partha Pratim Bairagi. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of having nutritious food for the good health of young children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women. He added that all had to come forward and work towards improving the state of health of women and children. He also thanked the team working under the District Social Welfare Officer for cooperating and working with Education, Health and Public Engineering departments, among others, in holding awareness programmes for underscoring the virtues of nutrition.

Winners of the quiz competition, organized by Brahmaputra Community Radio as part of the Poshan Maah, were also awarded on the occasion. Winners of various other competitions organized by the Social Welfare Department were also given away prizes.
