NAGAON: Agriculture Department, Nagaon ceremonially distributed power tillers and other agricultural inputs under various subsidized government schemes sponsored by the Union and State governments, including RKVY, BGREI and NFSM, at a function held at the office premise of Agriculture Subdivision Office, Koliabor on Thursday.
The programme was chaired by Debajit Neog where District Agriculture Officer Tarun Hazarika, Assistant Commissioner, Koliabor Subdivision (Civil), Trishna Ripon, Assistant Deputy Director of Agriculture Dr Bipul Sarma and SDO, Agriculture, Koliabor Ranjan Deka were present as invitees.
During the programme, the department concerned distributed power tillers among three beneficiaries respectively - Modan Chauhan, Suma Mura and Bhaskar Jyoti Bora. Besides, the officials of the department concerned also distributed various agricultural inputs as well as various seeds of current season crops, especially maize, vegetables, black gram, green gram and others among over 200 farmers of the subdivision.
While addressing the occasion, Tarun Hazarika, district agriculture officer, Nagaon, urged the farmers' community of the district to avail the benefits of those governmental subsidized schemes so that the community could extend a hand to boost the rural economy of the State as well as the country.
Significantly, the department concerned also distributed subsidized power tillers and other agricultural inputs among farmers under the various schemes at the office of Agriculture Subdivision, Raha on Wednesday.
