Power tillers distributed among beneficiaries in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: A ceremonial distribution of power tiller under State Own Priority Development (SOPD) 2020-21 was held in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.

Organized by the Department of Agriculture, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) executive member Ghanashyam Das attended the function as chief guest and handed over the power tillers to the beneficiaries.

Das said that a total 104 power tillers would be distributed in the four districts of BTR, including 37 each in Kokrajhar and Baksa and 15 each in Chirang and Udalguri districts. EM Das said that under the leadership of BTC chief Pramod Boro, all-round development was taking place and the BTR government was extending help to beneficiaries for farming. He urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the power tillers. He also called upon farmers to take up multi-cropping. He added that ideal farmers would be facilitated with various government benefits and schemes.

Mono Ranjan Das, Director of Agriculture, BTC, Ronbir Kakoti, EE Agriculture Kokrajhar, and other officials were present in the distribution function.
