KOKRAJHAR: Soon after the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) joined the grand alliance of the Congress, AIUDF, CPI, CPI (M) in Guwahati on Sunday, senior BPF leader and State Soil Conservation and Social Welfare Pramila Rani Brahma predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would sink because of its self esteem.

Talking to reporters at Kokrajhar, Brahma said that the BPF had helped the BJP to run the coalition government smoothly but things had changed now because the BJP was giving more importance to self-esteem and this would bring the downfall of the BJP in the forthcoming assembly election.

The BPF candidates would win in all 12 constituencies and would be part of the government of the grand alliance, she said, adding that the BJP and the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) would face humiliating defeat as the BPF had the strongest base in the region. She said the CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro was taking credit by opening or inaugurating the schemes taken up and completed by the previous government. She also said that there was nothing new in Pramod Boro's new schemes.

Claiming to be a BPF candidate for the forthcoming election, Brahma said that the BPF was prepared for the electoral battle. She welcomed 116 members from Adivasi Dragon Party who joined the BPF at Joypur in Kokrajhar on Sunday and assured that the party would develop the Joypur area at par with other parts of the region if it came to power.
