KOKRAJHAR: Pramila Rani Brahma on Friday chaired the review meeting on deadly COVID-19 pandemic in the district held at Kokrajhar Commerce College and took details from all line departments.
The meeting also discussed on the distribution of Gratuity relief (GR), sanitization drive, developmental works, social distancing, education and other relates issues. The meeting was attended by Additional Principal Secretary, BTC Jolly Das Brahma, DC Partha Pratim Mazumder, SP, Rakesh Roushan, SDOs and heads of line departments.
Talking to reporters, Minister Pramila Rani Brahma said the meeting reviewed the dreaded coronavirus pandemic and preventive measure taken by district administration, distribution of ration and other related issues. She said the DC and sub divisional officers had been asked to distribute GR to all poor families and to ensure financial support of Rs 1000 to all BPL families who have not possessed ration card. She said the State had sufficient food stuff to cover during the 2nd phase of nationwide lockdown.
“The government of Assam is taking care of people of the State in the time of crisis due to countrywide lockdown and taking necessary steps to help our people who have been stranded in different parts of the country due to lockdown,” she said adding that the state will relax agricultural activities and some important sectors after April 20 but social distancing must be followed.
On distribution of GR, the minister said the officers of line department should ensure that all poor families are getting rice as per order and cautioned so that there would be no violation or misappropriation. She also appealed all to follow the guidlines of social distancing.
