KOKRAJHAR: As the second wave of coronavirus is spreading fast across the country, including Assam, a review meeting was held on the deadly pandemic in the BTC Secretariat conference hall on Tuesday. The review meeting was chaired by Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro where the present trend of the pandemic and preparation to deal with the disease was discussed.
The CEM of BTC, Pramod Boro took stock of the detailed preparations of the four districts of the council to contain the spread of the virus. He sought the details of stock of medicines, ICU rooms, PPE kits and treatment centres in all four districts of BTR from the Director and Joint Director of Health Services and from the Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner.
Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Bhaskar Phukan said that COVID-19 testing centres would be extended to the Railway Station again to check the passengers coming from various parts of the country. He also said that the treatment centres set up earlier in West Bengal border would be re-opened very soon as COVID treatment hospital to facilitate the people infected by the deadly virus.
The meeting was attended by EM of Health and Family Welfare BTC, Arup Kr Dey, EM-Reo Reoa Narzihary, MCLA-Wilson Hasda, BTC Principal Secretary, Kokrajhar DC, Secretaries of BTC, doctors, DPM, NHM, Kokrajhar, Director of Education, Director of Food & Civil Supplies and other officers of the BTC Secretariat.
