Pranjal Chetia officer-in-charge of Naharkatia police station arrested Drug peddler

NAHARKATIA: Based on a tip-off, a police team led by Naharkatia police station officer-in-charge Pranjal Chetia managed to nab a drug peddler from Kalibari near the Kali Temple in Naharkatia on Sunday.

According to police source, the drug peddler has been identified Bibhas Singh (21), son of Bhaskar Tanti, a resident of signal line of Naharkatia tea estate. During the search operation, police seized a heroin-filled can, a mobile phone and incriminating materials from the custody of Bibhas Singh. Bibhas Singh was reportedly involved in drug trafficking for a long time. The police have already registered a case under the NDPS Act.
