Hamren: A candlelight service in memory of hundreds of Christians killed in the Sri Lanka bomb blasts was held at the Multi Utility Building (MUB), Hamren on Thursday evening.
The event was organized by Rupsing Teron, EM KAAC, in collaboration with West Karbi Anglong Deputy Commissioner Syed Isfaqur Rahman, and Biren Tisso, chairman of Hamren Town Committee, Headsing Rongphar, vice-chairman HTC, VDC chairman Roman Pator, BJP Yuva Morcha general secretary Pritom Rongpi, and various religion joined on the condolence.
During the event, participants of all age groups and gender from different churches, denominations and general public participated and express their grief and condolences to the family members of the two hundred people who lost their lives in the bomb blasts. Hamren Town church leaders also offered prayers to comfort the bereaved families and for the greater peace and stability of the world. Over 215 people were killed in a string of eight devastating blasts, including suicide attacks at churches and luxury hotels frequented by foreigners on Easter Day Sunday in Sri Lanka.
