Premier amateur theatrical institution of Sivasagar pays tribute to theatre personality Girish Dutta

SIVASAGAR: In a rare gesture of paying tribute to someone who is highly revered in the field of theatre, Natyapeeth, a premier amateur theatrical institution of Sivasagar, recently organized a special function. On the occasion of the adya shraddha of noted theatre personality Girish Dutta, Natyapeeth paid tribute to Girish Dutta at his Kalugaon residence. A large number of distinguished writers, playwrights and actors paid homage to the veteran actor and expressed their gratitude to the departed soul. Among them, Dr Anil Saikia of Moran, Juga Gogoi of Nazira, Dr Neelakhi Borgohain, president of Natyapeeth, Manik Ahmed and Sanjib Sarmah of Guwahati, Dr Sukalyan Das, Prasanta Sarmah and Dilip Das, principal and secretary of Natyapeeth, Jugal Bora, Manoj Kumar Borthakur, Anonga Mohan Sarmah, Bimal Bharali, Ranjan Phukan and Bipul Das recollected their long and intimate association with the actor for whom acting was indeed his life.
