Preparation for 75th Independence Day celebration held in Bongaigaon

BONGAIGAON: A meeting was held on Thursday in Bongaigaon in the conference hall of office of the Deputy Commissioner which was chaired by Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya, the Deputy Commissioner, in connection with observance of 75th Independence Day by the district administration.

The Deputy Commissioner asked all heads of departments for participation in discussion to chalk out a meaningful programme for celebration of the 75th Independence Day and to put forward valuable suggetions. The Independence Day programme will be held in Bongaigaon Gandhi Maidan field on August 15. The programmes include playing of patriotic songs through FLS, hoisting of national flag at individual residential premises, hoisting of national flag at government and semi-government institutions, swahid tarpan at Paglasthan and Birjhora Public Library, and hoisting of national flag by the VIP at Gandhi Maidan.

The responsibility of various preparations and arrangements has been entrusted to various officers. Appreciation letters to doctors, nurses and other health workers of Bongaigaon will be provided for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic by the district administration as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
