Preparation on for Amguri-Jhanji Winter Festival

Joysagar: Preparations are on for the Amguri-Jhanji Winter Festival in Amguri on the bank of the Jhanji River in Sivasagar from December 31 to January 7, 2019. Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) chairperson Jayanta Malla Baruah visited Amguri on Tuesday and also took part in the Amguri-Jhani winter festival celebration committee’s meeting. He said that ATDC had been taking various initiatives to uplift the tourism sector and such local festivals helped in exposing the tourism potential of the State. Baruah also said that two more local tourism based festivals would be held in Namdang of Sivasagar and in the greater Desangmukh area soon.
