Dhekiajuli: Chhath Puja will begin on Monday at 8 pm in the Dhirai river side in Dhekiajuli. For this purpose, hectic preparation is going on at the Dhirai river side. Shree Shree Surya Sasthi Puja Samity, Dhekiajuli will managed the entire Chhath Puja celebration in Dhekiajuli. The celebration committee president, Brij Kishore Kanu, secretary Ananda Sharma and joint secretary Prabhakar Sukla informed that on Monday night the idol of the goddess would be installed.

As per the programme, on the second and third day naam kirtan and other religious events would be held. The celebration committee will deploy volunteers during the puja period to control the devotees and the traffic. A colourful procession will be taken out through NH-15 of Dhekiajuli town on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, local administration has made adequate security arrangements for peaceful celebration of Chhath Puja in Dhekiajuli.

DEMOW: Chhath Puja will be celebrated with religious fervour and devotion in Demow Parghat, Demow Parghat, Dehajan Parghat, Deroi Parghat, Athabari Borphukhuri Parghat, Chakalia Parghat and Betbari Parghat on November 13 and November 14.

The decorations in the Parghat are going on in full swing and volunteers are working hard to decorate the parghats. The devotees will light lamps near the Parghat before the sun rises. Essential commodities for Chhath Puja were sold in the Sunday bazaar in Demow.

JOYSAGAR: In view of Chhath Puja celebration on November 13 and November 14 in Sivasagar town, Sivasagar Police and other security agencies have beefed up security arrangements. Sivasagar Superintendent of Police SK Sonowal said that that there was strict direction from the State Home Department for necessary security arrangements to be provided for peaceful celebration of Chhath Puja. Arrangements for the puja have been made in about nine ghats of Dikhow and Dorika rivers. Additional arrangements have been made in ghats of the Desang River in Desangmukh.

Sources informed that there security agencies had received information that some anti-social groups might try to disrupt the Chhat Puja celebration and also the panchayat polls. Hence security forces have launched operation against anti-social elements in many places of the district.
