President Draupadi Murmu confers ‘Bhoomi Sanman’ award to Darrang district DC

MANGALDAI: Darrang district has become the only district of Assam to be conferred with the newly-introduced prestigious national award ‘Bhoomi Sanman’ 2023 by President Draupadi Murmu in an august function at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on Tuesday morning. In the function, nine states and 68 districts of the country have been conferred with this award.

The nine states and the 68 districts have been selected on the basis of their best performance and excelling in achieving saturation of the core components of Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) – the core of Governance. This event is extremely significant for Revenue and Registration functionaries of the State who received the “Bhoomi Samman” for the first time in the last 75 years for their outstanding performance.

Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste and Secretary of Department of Land Resources Ajay Tirkey also attended the event. Principal Resident Commissioner of Assam Government at Assam Bhavan New Delhi Rajiv Chandra Joshi led the Assam state team accompanied by Director of Land Records Shantanu Gotmare and Additional Director of Land Records Nabajit Pathak to receive the award. District Development Commissioner Pankaj Deka and Assistant Commissioner Ihsanul Hussain of Darrang accompanied Deputy Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey in acknowledging this prestigious from President Draupadi Murmu.

President Draupadi Murmu in her speech talked about importance of revenue administration and urged authorities to devise mechanisms for fast resolution of land related litigations. She congratulated the awardees and appreciated the efforts of the Ministry.
