President to confer newly-introduced ‘Bhoomi Sanman Award’ to Darrang district

In a significant achievement, the Government of India has selected Darrang district to be conferred with the prestigious ‘Bhoomi Sanman Platinum Certificate’ on the ‘Bhoomi Sanman’ event introduced for the first time in the country in the last 75 years for outstanding performance.

MANGALDAI: In a significant achievement, the Government of India has selected Darrang district to be conferred with the prestigious ‘Bhoomi Sanman Platinum Certificate’ on the ‘Bhoomi Sanman’ event introduced for the first time in the country in the last 75 years for outstanding performance. President of India Draupadi Murmu will ceremonially confer this award at a function at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on July 18. This has been informed by Sonmoni Borah, Joint Secretary, Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India vide an official letter. A total of 68 districts of nine states out of total of 765 districts of the country have been nominated for this award. These nine states are Assam, Bihar, Chattishgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tripura and West Bengal. Darrang district is the only district of Assam to be nominated for this newly-introduced prestigious award. All the 68 districts have been selected for excelling in achieving saturation of the core components of Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP)- the core of governance.

All the selected districts and state governments will be conferred with ‘Bhoomi Sanman Platinum Certificates’ for achieving 99% and above work in six components of DILRMP i.e Computerization of Land Records, Digitization of Cadestral Maps/FMBs, Linkage of Land Records with Cadestral Maps, Computerization of Registrations, Integration of Registration with Land Records (Revenue Office) and Modern Record Room.

Deputy Commissioner of Darrang district, Munindra Nath Ngatey, accompanied by District Development Commissioner Pankaj Deka and Assistant Commissioner Ihsanul Hussain, will receive the award from the President on July 18. They left for New Delhi on Sunday. On behalf of the State Government, Principal Resident Commissioner at New Delhi, Rajiv Chandra Joshi, Director of Land Records, Shantanu Gotmare and Additional Director of Land Records Naba Jyoti Pathak will also attend the function.

The news of the nomination of Darrang district as the only district of Assam for this prestigious award has created a feeling of immense joy and pleasure among all the citizens of the district. Mangaldai Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia congratulated Deputy Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey and all the officials and employees of the Revenue department of the districts for their outstanding achievement and sincere service with devotion and commitment. Mayukh Goswami Secretary of Mangaldai Media Circle, Mostak Ahmed of Pothoru Samanway Gosthi, social activists Ganesh Dutta, Hitesh Hazarika, Naba Kumar Deka and various social organizations of the district have also expressed immense joy and congratulated the Deputy Commissioner and his team.
