Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program review meeting held in Silchar

SILCHAR: A review meeting of all the bankers of Cachar on the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) was held by the Central Government Department of Khadi and Rural Industries (Ministry of MSME) at the conference hall of DRDA here on Monday.

In this review meeting held under the chairmanship of Rajiv Roy, District Development Commissioner of Cachar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Khadi and Rural Industries Department, Dr. Sukomal Dev told all the bankers that the unemployed youth or those who want to be entrepreneurs are eligible for the PMEGP programme. He mentioned that all bankers have a pivotal role to play in giving financial grants to entrepreneurs of all levels.

Dev requested that banks should create new enthusiasm in the valley and sincerely help the unemployed youths by providing loans easily so that they can easily get loans. "Earlier revised maximum project expenditure for service and trading unit as per these guidelines was 20 lakh rupees and if the total cost of the project is more for the service sector, the banks can provide the remaining amount without any subsidy, " Dr Dev said, stated a press release.
