Prisoner flees from police custody at Nagaon Court premises

NAGAON: Sensation prevailed in Nagaon town on Friday after a prisoner fled from the police custody at Nagaon Court premises. According to sources, one Saidul Ahmed of Puranigudam, accused for a theft case, was jailed on November 30 and since then he was staying in Nagaon central jail. But on Friday noon he was brought to Nagaon Court premises with a view to produce him in the court. When the police on duty were taking him towards the court, due to slight alleged negligence of the police personnel, he got his way to flee from the police custody. The sources however stated here that Saidul was apprehended for a theft case registered under case number 774/18 in Samaguri police station and Nagaon Court sent him to Nagaon central jail under judicial custody.
