Private Hospitals asked to Provide Emergency Services at Night in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: To make private hospitals and nursing homes in Sivasagar more patient-friendly, the Sivasagar district administration has issued a strict advisory to these establishments. It instructs all such establishments to render emergency services at night hours in cases of emergency.

In the advisory issued vide No. SVD/MIS/20/2019/14, Dated 19/10/2019, the Sivasagar District Development Commissioner asked the authorities of five private hospital and nursing homes of Sivasagar, namely Pragati Hospital & Research Centre, Sarma Nursing Home, Sampriti Hospital, East Point Hospital & Research Centre and Aditya Diagnostic and Hospital to provide immediate medical care in emergency at night hours.

The advisory asked the authorities of the five private hospital and nursing homes to provide emergency medical services on regular basis during night hours to needy patients. It also advises the administration of the respective nursing homes to ensure the availability of at least one experienced residential doctor during night hours.

Highlighting security as an important issue, the advisory suggests the hospital authorities to deploy one security personnel at the main entrance gate of the hospital at night to help needy patients in getting emergency medical services.
