DIBRUGARH: A virtual interactive programme on 'Self-employment through Mushroom cultivation' was organized on Saturday by the Academic Committee for students at Campus-II of Manohari Devi Kanoi Girls' College on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Year (2022- 2023) Celebration of the college.

Coordinated by Dr. Juli Konwar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Mathematics, was inaugurated by Principal of the college, Dr. Nibedita Phukan and moderated with a welcome address by Bornali Nath Dowerah, Assistant Professor, Deptt. of English. Resource Persons Dr. Dipali Majumder, Agricultural Biologist from Stockton, California, USA and Apurba Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Agricultural Science, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat in their respective deliberations emphasized on self-employment like mushroom cultivation which can be started with a minimum budget and it is a training to meet unemployability. The relevant points also included the opportunities and scope for this cultivation both locally and globally. The programme was graced by Dr. Manashi Sharma, Secretary of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration Core Committee, Dr. Rupali Majumder, Convenor of Academic Committee, esteemed teachers and students of the college. The programme was followed by an interactive session with the students.
