Prominent barber Gopal Thakur passes away in Jorhat

JORHAT: A prominent barber of Lichubari in Jorhat, Gopal Thakur passed away at a private hospital at around 3.10 pm due to cardiac arrest. He was 78. He leaves behind two daughters and two sons. He was the former secretary and president of Jorhat Barber Association. His demise was widely condoled by the barber fraternity of Jorhat district. He hails from Beguchrai district of Bihar. Moreover, the Jorhat district Barber Association has called for shutdown of all barber shops and salons on January 1, 2020 as a mark of respect of the departed soul. His last rite was performed in the evening at the Jorhat Goromur Hindu crematorium in presence of his admirers and friends.
