DHUBRI: Mozahidul Haque of Dhubri passed away at his residence in Guwahati on May 20. He was 55 and leaves behind his wife, a son, friends and well-wishers. It was during 90s when new dailies from Guwahati were hitting the stands at regular intervals. Haque joined as correspondent of the daily Nutun Dainik from Dhubri. He drew the attention of the readers by his sheer sharpness and flair of reporting on various issues affecting people.
Haque was later appointed for an eveninger - Sandhya Batori. He infused life into the eveninger. Haque later went to become executive editor of Asomiya Khabar. Executive Editor of Pratah Khabar, Rajive Kumar, who was a close friend of Haque during the 90s in Dhubri, expressed grief over the demise of his colleague. "Mozahidul was among the new breed of journalists from Dhubri who proved his mettle and left behind a lasting imprint in the field of journalism in Assam," Rajive Kumar said. Dhubri Journalist Association (DJA) condoled the demise of Haque and prayed for strength to the family members to bear the pain. Journalists Federation Assam (JFA) president Rupam Barua and secretary Nava expressed deep condolence. "It is a very painful moment for the journalist fraternity as we lost Padmeswar Chitrakar, Bhaskar Dutta, Pranjal Hazarika and Mozahidul Haque during this lockdown," Rupam Barua said.
