Protest against HSLC exam paper leak in Naharkatia

NAHARKATIA: In a large demonstration against the cancellation of the General Science paper of the HSLC exam due to the question paper's leak through a notification by SEBA, Naharkatia Regional Unit AASU activists burned an effigy of Assam’s Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu in front of the AASU office on Monday. Tridiv Saikia, president of the AASU Naharkatia Regional Unit, and Nipu Bhuiyan, secretary, led the demonstration, claiming that the gross incompetence of the SEBA administration had once again come to light.

Naharkatia Regional Students’ Union on Monday burnt the effigy of Education Minister Ranoj Pegu and staged a protest after the General Science question paper was leaked on Sunday night. Several office-bearers and members of AASU Naharkatia regional unit were present at the protest, which was attended by Jayant Konwar, vice-president of the All Dibrugarh District Students’ Union and advisor of the Naharkatia Regional Students’ Union. They shouted various slogans against the Education Minister and the Government.
