MORIGAON: Along with the rest of the country, the Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees, Engineers and Pensioners, Morigaon circle, supported by the Jagiroad division and subdivision, on Thursday staged a day-long strike in front of its Jagiroad branch against the government's move to privatize the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL). The protesters demanded the government not to privatize the APDCL at any cost.

DONKAMUKAM: Along with the rest of the State, the employees of the Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL) on Thursday protested by showing placards and shouting slogans against the government's move to privatize the APDCL in the premises of Subdivisional (SD) electrical office at Donkamukam, West KarbiAnglong. The employees stationed at Umpanai and Boithalangso also took part. The employees told media persons that they would continue their protest until the government considers their demand. "Privatization will lead to work load and uncertainty for the employees. The government has to pay heed to our demand," said the employees.
