Protest rally against Russia in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur district witnessed a rising protest on Sunday against Russia regarding its invasion on Ukraine. In this connection, the members of the Lakhimpur district unit of Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) on Sunday evening took to the street with protest rally in North Lakhimpur town from Nakari to Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital campus.

By initiating the protest programme, the political party vehemently condemned Russia for its "one-sided invasion" on Ukraine. During the rally, the protesters demanded Vladimir Putin to stop the invasion by shouting various slogans. They also shouted slogans to dissolve NATO led by United States of America and to appeal to all to be united against war. After the rally, the protesters held a protest meeting under the management of Lakhimpur district SUCI (C) activist Birinchi Pegu.

In the meeting, SUCI (C) State Committee member Projjwal Dev condemned "imperialistic Russia" for its military aggression on Ukraine. "The conflict between American imperialism and Russian imperialism has created the war and it is a tremendous threat to the world peace," he said in the protest meeting while demanding Russian Government to stop its aggression on Ukraine.
