Quack arrested from Bihudiya under Kharupetia Police Station

MANGALDAI: In their continuous crackdown on anti-social elements, Darrang Police this time have put strong vigil over the quacks who have been luring the poorer sections with the false assurance of offering medical service at a very nominal charge. A team of Darrang Police led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Anita Hazarika and Officer-in-charge of Kharuprtia Police Station, Sub-Inspector Biraj Mohan Deka recently arrested one such quack from village Bihudiya under Kharupetia Police Station. The arrested quack has been identified as Sahar Ali, son of Mahar Ali, and he confessed about his fraudulent treatment of patients. He even administered antibiotic medicines and injections to the patients though he has no basic medical qualification.

The police team recovered several objectionable medicines, saline sets and a good number of antibiotic medicines. The police have registered a case vide Kharupetia PS case number 483/19 under section 420/ 419 of the Indian Penal Code.
