GUWAHATI: Tremors of an earthquake were felt at about 10:32 am on Thursday.

The intensity of the quake is 5.6 on the Richter scale, according to reports.

As per information, the earthquake was of mild intensity and was felt in several Upper Assam districts. The epicentre of the quake is known to be near Aalo in the West Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh.

 The tremors have been felt across the state of Arunachal Pradesh along with neighbouring Myanmar and China.

 A second earthquake was also reported from the same region a difference of about half an hour. It had an intensity of 3.5 on the Richter Scale.

It may be mentioned here that another major earthquake of 6.6 magnitude intensity struck neighbouring Nepal on Wednesday morning. As many as six people lost their lives in the massive earthquake whose epicentre was 158 kilometres northeast of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh.
