Quiz contest under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan held successfully in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The district level quiz contest under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) was held successfully in Lakhimpur district under the management of District Elementary Education Officer Hemchandra Saikia. The event was organized at Lakhimpur Girls’ College in association with that academic institution. It was inaugurated by Dr. Prabal Kumar Saikia, the Chief Scientist of Zonal Agricultural Research Station, AAU, North Lakhimpur. While delivering his lecture Dr. Saikia highlighted how quiz and quiz contest benefit students. Principal of Lakhimpur Girls’ College, Dr. Surajit Bhuyan delivered the welcome address. Assistant Professors Dr. Parama Dutta, Parag Kumar Deka, Dr. Ratul Kumar Lahon and retired teacher Bharat Rajkhowa took part in the quiz contest as quiz masters.

A total of 36 teams selected from six education blocks of the district through block-level contest took part in the district level contest. The nodal teachers of the teams, officers and employees of the District Education Office, Programme Officers Gunajit Thakuriya and Derazul Hussain, BEEO of Narayanpur Education Block Padmeswar Borah and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.

In the primary category of the contest, Kankanjyoti Borah and Ujjal Phukan of Subansiri HS School under Dhakuakhana Education Block secured the first position, Sanjib Das and Ghana Pratim Gogoi of Laluk HS School under Bihpuria Education Block secured the second position while Mrinali Dutta and Gyandeep Dutta of Pachim Dhakuakhana HS School under Dhakuakhana Education Block secured the third position.

On the other hand, in the secondary category of the contest, Bhagyashree Dutta and Asthajita Burhagohain of North Lakhimpur Higher Secondary School under Lakhimpur Education Block won first prize, Swarup Bhuyan and Bitopan Hazarika of Burha-Burhi High School under Narayanpur Education Block grabbed the second prize and Bastav Baruah and Kakali Konch of Harhi Academy under Dhakuakhana Education Block secured third prize.
