Raax Mahotsav Celebration Committee Formed, Kalaigaon

KALAIGAON: The residents of greater Kalaigaon will celebrate Raax festival with a traditional and colorful 11-day programme from November 22 to December 2.

On occasion of Raax Mahotsav, a celebration committee has been formed with Mukul Shaikia as president and Gupinandan Basumatary as general secretary.

Secretary Gupinandan Basumatary told media persons that MP Ramen Deka allotted a scheme for construction of a community hall in the Raax venue at an estimated cost of Rs 2.25 lakh. RK Jain, a well-wisher of the Raax committee, assured to pay an amount to construct the permanent temple for the celebration of Raax in Kalaigaon.
