Ranjit Bora Murder Case: Prime Accused Killed In Police Firing

The incident took place in the outskirts of Jorabat area.

GUWAHATI: An incident took place on Friday night, where the prime accused in Ranjit Bora murder case got killed during a police firing. A day prior to his death, Shah Alam Talukdar escaped the police custody of Satgaon police station.

Police has not yet narrated the episode, however, Talukdar was shot on Friday night. The firing occurred in the outskirts of Jorabat. His body has been submitted in the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. According to sources, the deceased was shot with two bullets in his chest.

Shah Alam Talukdar attempted to flee away from the cops of Satgaon police unit while he was taken to Botahghuli area for a search operation. Shah Alam Talukdar is one of the six accused in Ranjit Bora’s murder case.

With the death of one, Bora’s murderer now stands at five, who are already inside the custody. On 10th February, Talukdar also tried to commit suicide inside the cell of Dispur Police Station. According to the reports, the murdered used sharp ends of a bucket and tried to cut his wrist.

However, police personnels spotted him in the condition and hurriedly took him for medical attention to GMCH. Talukdar was the main person behind the murder of Ranjit Bora. He was arrested on 6th February, for planning and killing the innocent man. On 5th February, several facts came up to the surface where Talukdar was involved in varied unlawful activities.

It is worth mentioning here that, Ranjit Bora was killed inside his car by few miscreants on 21st of November, while he was approaching towards a bank to deposit money. Two miscreants arrived in a two wheeler and shot bullets on Bora i Guwahati’s Panjabari area.
