Re-polling passes off peacefully under 16-Haflong (ST) Assam Assembly constituency

HAFLONG: Amid tight security arrangement, re-polling passed off peacefully in two polling stations of 107-Mualdam LP School and 107A-Khothlir LP School under 16-Haflong (ST) Assam Assembly constituency on Tuesday.

Polling started at 7 am in both the polling booths and continued till 6 pm. The Election Commission vide its 495/ECI/LET/TERR/NE2-As-LA/2021 dated April 10, 2021 ordered fresh poll in these two booths of Dima Hasao among the four in entire Assam, in view of some anomalies during the second phase of the poll held in 16-Haflong (ST) on April 1, 2021. As per the electoral roll, altogether there are 706 voters of which 62.96 per cent turned out to vote on Tuesday.
