TEZPUR: A registration programme on Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan (PM-SYM), a pension scheme for unorganized workers was held at the office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Tezpur. The programme was organized by CSC, District Manager, Sonitpur in association with Assistant Labour Commissioner, Tezpur and Pajhra, NGO based at Tezpur.
Attending the programme, Dipankar Tamuli, District Manager, Common Service Centre (CSC) said that the registration programme was organized with the sole purpose to help the Adivasis working in the unorganized sector to avail financial benefits in the future. He also said that once the beneficiary joins the scheme at the entry age of 18-40 years, the beneficiary has to contribute till 60 years of age and on attaining the age of 60 years, the subscriber will get the minimum assured monthly pension of Rupees three thousand per month.
Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, MIP, Tezpur, Pranita Das, Labour Inspector, Anjali Barla, Coordinator of Pajhra were also present in the programme. Around 100 beneficiaries from Balipara and Bihaguri Block successfully registered for PMSYM.
