DIBRUGARH: A delegation of Dibrugarh University Pensioners' Association (DUPA) met the members of the Executive council of DU on Thursday and once again placed their demand that DU authority should honour the verdict of Guwahati High Court and release regular as well arrear pension within 15 days. "It is really most unfortunate that the authority miserably failed to implement the High Court's verdict to this effect through the date of judgments and order issued on May 19,2021," they said.
The delegation in its memorandum to the EC lamented that DUPA's request and appeal for implementing the High Court order , which directed the DU authorities to release pension to all categories of the retired employees were turned down by the DU authorities in either one plea or another from last five months, as a result , DUPA members have been deprived off from their legitimate pension. The DUPA delegation alleged that the DU authorities did not bother to justify their action taken so far regarding payment of pension to DUPA although DUPA members placed their submission to E.C on August 12, this year.
For an effective redress of pensioners genuine grievances, the DUPA delegation urged upon DU Authorities to release the pension within November 15 this year.
