TANGLA: In an unique gesture towards conservation and protection of fauna, a Rescue and Rehabilitation Team (RRT) of 61 Bn SSB stationed at the Bhutan-Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border town Bhairabkunda in the Udalguri district, rescued a elephanf calf on Saturday.
According to reports, the jumbo fell in the Nargam river and was battling for life. The Rescue and Rehabilitation Team quickly responded and rescued the jumbo and feed it with water and milk. The jumbo was later handed over to local forest officials for setting it free in the forest. The rescue team was led under supervision of Assistant Commandant of 61 Bn SSB, Ratna Bahadur Rai.
