BOKO: A retired army officer, Pabitra Kumar Rabha (65) from Chokabaha village under Boko LAC lost his life during a road accident on NH-17at Jarapara village under Boko PS on Wednesday.

According to eye-witnesses, he was returning home from Boko town on his motorcycle when his motorcycle had a head-on collision with a Tata Ultra bus and he died on the spot. According to police sources, the bus was coming at a high speed from Goalpara towards Mirza. After the collision with the motorcycle, the bus driver lost control and the bus hit an electricity pole and fell into a ditch. Many passengers, including the driver and co-driver, were injured in the accident, but local people and Boko Police immediately reached the spot and admitted all the injured persons in Boko Primary Health Centre for treatment.

Pabitra Kumar Rabha was from the 2nd Assam Regiment. He had two sons, one had passed away a few years back and the other son is from the 9th Assam Regiment of the Indian Army.
